Veneer/Crown: Weakened, Cracked, Worn Front Teeth

BEFORE
AFTER

He was never much bothered by how much his teeth were wearing away due to teeth grinding. “They’ve always been like this; they’ll be fine”, he would say.

One or two years had gone by, and this is how he’d presented – with cracked front teeth and dark staining associated with them. We’d soon agreed that we shouldn’t let the crack worsen and actually split the teeth in half, knowing taking the teeth out would then be necessary, follow by some sort of treatment like dental implants to fill the gaps.

We got on to placing the veneers pretty quickly, as we’d know the longer we go without, the higher the risk to the teeth splitting. He’d wanted to make sure that no-one would be able to tell he’d had dental work done, so with that in mind, we’d gone ahead to mimic, in great detail, his other teeth.

Now he can go back to chewing with his front teeth as he pleases, with the comfort that they look like how they’d always had looked, before the cracks and wear.

Teeth grinding, no matter how seemingly mild, can have amplified consequences in the long term!
